Arty Parky 2017: Creative Half Term Activities

Head4Arts is pleased to announce they will again be delivering Arty Parky events in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil and Torfaen during Half Term. Arty Parky is a series of four free events that encourage families and people of all ages to get creative and enjoy the great outdoors.

During Arty Parky, participants will work alongside environmental artist Kate Raggett to create spectacular land drawings made entirely from natural materials foraged in the parks, such as fallen leaves, twigs, conkers and seeds. Building on the success of previous events that have been running for the past four years, Head4Arts hopes to create four more amazing autumnal artworks in four parks across the region.

Participants are welcome to join in at any time throughout the day and stay as long as they like – just dropping in or staying all day.

An assistant on the event explained that “I have been involved with Arty Parky from the start and it’s wonderful to see the same faces coming back each year. It’s also great to see how much Arty Parky has grown over the years, with lots of new families coming along to help us make these inspiring pieces of outdoor art”

The events run from 10.30am to 3pm on the following dates:

Saturday 28th October – Bedwellty Park, Tredegar

Sunday 29th October – Pontypool Park

Thursday 2nd November –Cyfarthfa Park, Merthyr Tydfil

Friday 3rd November – Morgan Jones Park, Caerphilly

The more people who take part, the more remarkable the results will be so please come along and help out!

Arty Parky events will still take place in light rain, but may be postponed in the event of severe weather. More information – and weather updates – can be found on the Head4Arts website and social media pages / Facebook: Head4Arts / Twitter: @Head4Arts #ArtyParky
