Ready, Steady, Go: An Introduction to Working in Community Arts
Do you have a great idea for an arts project but don’t know where to begin? Do you want to work on creative projects in the community?
‘Ready, Steady, Go’ is a day of training that provides artists of all art forms with an overview of community arts practice, and highlights things to consider when preparing community-based arts projects. The scheme provides artists of all ages with the knowledge and skills to develop their creative ideas and pursue a career in the sector.
Devised and delivered by Head4Arts and the Arts Development Team of Caerphilly County Borough Council, the course will run from 9.30am – 4.30pm on Tuesday 24th November 2015 at Llanhilleth Miners Institute, NP13 2JT. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Topics covered include: essentials of working as a freelance practitioner; effective delivery techniques; practical session with an experienced Community Artist; and many more. There will also be a chance to network and find out about further training opportunities.
This is a free training course delivered as an ArtWorks Cymru CPD event but booking is essential as places are limited.
