Arty Parky 2021

Outdoor fun at Arty Parky events

Are you looking for something for your family to do during half term? Head4Arts has the answer: dig out the wellies, wrap up warm and join Arty Parky.

After last year’s “virtual” event, Head4Arts is excited to be running free Arty Parky events in four fantastic parks this October.

During Arty Parky families are invited to forage for natural materials in the park, such as fallen leaves, sticks, conkers and seeds and use them to decorate giant land drawings. It’s the perfect opportunity to get creative in the great outdoors!

The events will be tweaked slightly to make sure that everyone involved can socially distance and stay safe whilst helping to create spectacular outdoor artworks.

The first event “Arti Parci” is taking place in Cyfarthfa Park as part of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s “Diwrnod Shwmae Su’mae”. This event will be bilingual with an opportunity for people to try out their Welsh language skills. Participants are also welcome to take part in Welsh or English at all other events.

The events will take place on the following dates:

Saturday 16th October – Cyfarthfa Park (10am – 2pm)

Saturday 23rd October – Pontypool Park (10.30am – 3pm)

Thursday 28th October – Morgan Jones Park (10.30am – 3pm)

Friday 29th October – Bedwellty Park (10.30am – 3pm)

Everyone is welcome to join in at any time throughout the day and stay as long as they like – just dropping in or staying all day.

Arty Parky events will still take place in light rain but may be postponed in the event of severe weather. Weather updates will be posted on the Head4Arts website and social media pages
