The Core Team
Based in Llanhilleth Miners Institute, the core staff team is two multi-tasking creative individuals who have a passion for innovative socially engaged practice, and who have helped shape Head4Arts’ journey from the very beginning.
Creative Director: Kate Strudwick initiates all major projects developed by Head4Arts and sets out key organisational priorities with support from the Steering Group. Kate has developed Head4Arts’ international partnerships through her involvement in the Tandem Europe programme and has led on projects linked to Creative Learning through the Arts, both as a Creative Agent and through the delivery of two Creative Collaborations projects.
Assistant Creative Director: Bethan Lewis manages specific programmes of work, such as heritage projects, Inspire2Achieve programmes and Arts Awards accreditations. Bethan oversees Head4Arts’ marketing operations and designs its monitoring and evaluation processes. In 2018 Bethan received support from Arts Council Wales to take part in the Leading Learning programme run by the National Cultural and Leisure Forum.
Community Arts Intern: Finley Neilens is a recent graduate from Cardiff Metropolitan University School of Art and Design’s BA Graphic Communication course. Finley has loved his start at Head4Arts, making a meaningful difference to people’s lives through creativity.

Freelance Arts Practitioners & Project Support: Head4Arts engage a range of highly skilled community arts practitioners and project co-ordinators to deliver activities on a freelance basis.
